This three hour cultural marvel is based on five interesting episodes about the Goddess of wealth and prosperity from the Indian mythology. Chitravina N. Ravikiran, who has composed the entire ballet is a musical genius in his own right. He has skillfully employed a variety of musical forms and tunes to bring out the intricacies and a wealth of emotions. His compositions are truly innovative and awe-inspiring. Smt. Radha, the choreographer of Lakshmi Prabhavam, has to her credit ballets like "Jaya Jaya Devi", which ran more than 20 packed shows all over North America .These were appreciated by both Indian and Western audiences. In this ballet, she has beautifully depicted not only people, birds and animals but also inanimate things like mountain, water and fire, and abstractions like chaos and anger. Colorfully costumed young male and female dancers have transformed the choreographer's vision into reality, transporting the audience to the scene of action itself. They have exhibited realistic emotions, agility and grace. The whole ballet has been narrated by P.C. Ramakrishna (in English) in his familiar booming baritone . One can just not afford to miss this wonderful experience! ALL PROCEEDS OF THIS PROGRAMME GO TO CHARITY *************************************************************************** Association for India's Development(AID) is a non-profit organization that initiates, promotes and supports various social service projects all over India.
