ATTENTION PROGRAMMERS
I'm a chemist at Ohio State and I'm in dire need of your
expertise. I need a program that allows interactive fast Fourier
transform manipulation of frequency domain data sets. I want to
import an ascii xy file and take it's fft. I would then like to
manipulate the generated interferrogram in the following ways;
-Zerofilling- I'd like to extend the transformed data set from N
points to 2N, 4N, 8N, ..., by the addition of zeros. This will
increase the accuracy and resolution of the original data by
interpolating missing points.
-Apodization- I'd like to multiply the zerofilled interferrogram
by a scaling function of varying composition. The function is to
be triangular, but the slope and length of the function are to be
user defined. This will reduce noise in the original spectrum.
After these manipulations I would then like to perform the
inverse fft on the data set to regenerate the interpolated
spectrum. Another bonus would allow me to save the data set "as
is" at any point in the process. Programming language is not a
problem as long as I can boot up on my IBM 486. If you can offer
any help whatsoever please respond, contact me at my magnus
address, or phone collect at (614)292-0426. Of particular
interest are commercially available programs that will either do
