Error with "Emergency No Parking" signs

The city of Columbus on Wednesday, March 13, began posting
"Emergency No Parking" signs in the student neighborhood east of High Street
in preparation for the street sweeping that will be done on Monday, March
18, and Tuesday, March 19.

These signs have caused confusion among students and others in the
area because, due to an error, the signs didn't carry the dates of March 18
and 19. Many people thought the "no parking" applied immediately.

When notified of the error, the city stopped posting the signs and
ordered the printing of new signs which will clarify that the "no parking"
applies to March 18 and 19. Some of the new signs are expected to be posted
before the end of the day March 13. The signs which are in error will be
corrected or removed by the morning of March 14.

The committee of city, university and community people which has
planned the street sweeping apologizes for the error in the signs. We
regret any confusion that may have resulted.

Please remember, however, not to park vehicles on the streets on
March 18 and 19 in the area bounded by East 11th Avenue on the south,
Woodruff Avenue on the north, North High Street on the west and Summit
Street on the east. The city will be sweeping the streets on those days as
part of a communitywide effort to improve the appearance of the University
District. Ohio State is offering free parking to residents of that
neighborhood. They may park their vehicles without an Ohio State parking
decal in the lot at the southwest corner of Neil and Lane avenues around the
Jesse Owens Recreation Center North and in the lot at the southwest corner
of Tuttle Park Place and Lane Avenue immediately north of Converse Hall.
