To view this post in HTML online, go to the fisher website here: http://www.fisherpark.net/email1.htm The Fisher Park Reunion is happening - June 22-24, 2007. Twenty years ago, Ottawa's fifth and most unique secondary school was closed. Fisher Park High School did not go quietly into the night; we the students, staff, and graduates waged an unprecedented public battle to save our school. Despite our heroic efforts, we were defeated. Gone were the hallways lined with photos of student leaders, the display cases filled with athletic trophies, and the plaques exalting academic excellence. No more stopping by to share our accomplishments, and show our appreciation, to the staff and teachers who taught us more than just their prescribed subjects. Our sense of loss was great; but our spirit was greater. Those who went to Fisher experienced a sense of camaraderie that still exists. As word of a reunion has spread, the excitement and spirit of Fisher has flourished once again. We are older and wiser, and although we have known great joys and sorrows since our high school days, we are excited by the opportunity to reminisce with those who shared the memories that shaped our lives. They say you can't go home again, but for one exciting fun filled weekend we are going to "Take Back Our School!" From June 22nd - 24th, 2007 there will be a variety of activities at Fi-Pa-Hi including decade rooms filled with memorabilia, casual sporting events, and a dance featuring music from all four decades. WE NEED YOU! To start with, please contact everyone you know who went to Fisher and ask them to visit the website fisherpark.net. We need volunteers to assist with registration on the day, hosting the decade rooms, collecting memorabilia, and promoting the event. You can sign up online to assist, contribute memorabilia, or post obituaries of former staff & students. There is a poster you can download and put up at your office, gym, school, grocery store, and anywhere else you can think of. We have nine months to go. Let's make this the biggest reunion this town has ever seen. Go Fisher Go!
