The Tara Players present DANCING AT LUGHNASA (written by Brian Friel) "It is harvest time in Co. Donegal. In a house just outside of Ballbeg live the five Mundy sisters, barely making ends meet. This is a memory play of an Ireland of smiles and tears. Brian Friel evokes not simply the interior landscape of a group of human beings trapped in their domestic situation, but a wider social landscape where Christian values mingle with pagan attachments to the seasons and the land." This play was a successful part of the 1993 season at the NAC at three times the admission price. Wednesday 96 April 24 -- 8pm St Patrick's Hall 280 Gloucester St (btw Kent & Lyon) Ottawa Tickets are $10 at Octopus Books, 798 Bank St (btw 3rd & 4th) Ottawa. 613/235-2589. --- Steven Meece http://chat.carleton.ca/~smeece "A police baton across the skull is the clearest example of 'government interference with the individual' that I can imagine." -- from ont.general
