  This should clearly be an indication of the advantages to the Main St. 
model of community Networking.  While no single organization offers the 
perfect access mechenism for this read-only access to NCF groups to all 
people, when you combine the resources of DAVIN, FLORA and NCF you are 
then able to get a very easy to use service for any type of user.

  Those wishing to sample the NCF groups in guest mode will be pleased to 
learn that the auto-download scripts have not been disabled by the recent 
change to NCF operations, allowing a variety of sites to continue to 
mirror NCF content to promote the use of the NCF.  Those wishing to read the 
groups can still do so through a variety of local Ottawa Internet 
providers offering these newsgroups directly from their NEWS servers.   


  Those without access via their own provider's NEWS servers can always 
make use of the read-only access to Regional newsgroups available via the 
FLORA NEWS server:

http://news.flora.org/


  Sorry that FLORA does not keep an up-to-date file on the WEB server 
for NCF newsgroups.  If you wish to browse and don't know the name of 
the group, the DAVIN NEWS statistics pages can help you here as they 
include a full listing of newsgroups, and pointers to the FLORA HTTP 
news server to view articles within these groups:
