Hi. As I am scheduled to get wave installed this coming week, I started looking at the network topology. While at one point several months ago I thought traceroutes showed rogers.wave.ca using rns (Rogers Network Services). Now traceroutes show wave using Istar in Toronto and Vancouver. This would be good *if* these Istar connections were additional peering points, but the RNS connections seem to be gone (or at least are unused). RNS peers with CA*Net in Toronto (psp.on.canet.ca <-> rns-border1.on.canet.ca), and with Sprint (sl-rogernet-1-s0-T3.sprintlink.net). So why would wave be using only Istar for connectivity, when you would think it would be better and cheaper to use RNS? 500kbps to the desktop is a nice technology; hopefully Wave implements the backbone to support it. -Ralph p.s. remove ".nospam" from my email address to reply to this message -- Ralph Doncaster, Doncaster Consulting Inc email: ralph@doncaster.on.ca 2816 Richmond Rd.
