No, it doesn't get me good online banking, but it does get me > good branch hours :-) E*Trade is great when it comes to some things such as being able to stay logged on (from work) for days at a time. Unlike TD, it doesn't let you go through 2 or 3 levels of menus (which can take a couple of minutes at busy times) only to tell you that you've timed out and been logged off. E*Trade does come up short against TD when it comes to features. In particular, it does not provide stop-loss or good-through, but these features are planned for introduction in December (no problem for anyone thinking of switching over now, since it takes about 2 months for the sending/receiving institutions to move the securities). > > I suspect that you might have better luck with a thread in can.taxes or > something. BTW, for pure electronic banking I just LOVE Mbanx. No, I don't work there, but since I have a mortgage and line of credit with them I actually make about $25 each month from their "cash rewards" program even after I pay the $13 monthly fee. I get $25 in my pocket each month PLUS all of my cheques, web banking and Interac purchases are FREE. You gotta love that! In addition, they man the phones 24 hours a day. If you feel like phoning at 2 a.m. to ask for a loan (to cover the money you just lost at the Casino) someone will be there to take the information and you'll have an answer within a day or two.
