UUnet's Cisco 7513 198.133.49.2, used for peering in Toronto with Bell (and
many others) is running a high CPU load and is dropping packets.
Bell's router connected via FDDI to 198.133.49.2 is 205.207.238.202.

The following were done simultaneously at approx 22:30 from 206.47.27.174

Hum, that might explain why I had been having sporadic problems with
my Internet access at work earlier today...err...yesterday.

I also did a download of a Microsoft product, that went only 30
kilobytes per second. To check the speed, when I telnetted to my
own home system, my ADSL connection downloaded the same file
at 154 kilobytes per second.

Surely, a corporate link to UU*Net should perform better and more
reliably than a puny ADSL connection!

Connections to www.microsoft.com from ADSL go through Bell's MCI
connection and not UUNet, so this wouldn't slow down your Microsloth
downloads.

Yes, but my on-site connection is on a UU*Net T1.
That's where my downloads of only 30 kilobytes per second went through.

How badly was the T1 saturated though? A corporate leased line at 12:30
is going to be under heavy load as all the big corporate execs start checking
out playboy on their lunch break.

That could be true, but the problem is, normally my downloads aren't
that slow around here.
