Mister darrell M. Larose. I have done an extencive search and
found those fraudlent DejaNews postings with the following IPs...
207.112.59.118, 207.112.59.111 have originated from
http://www.newforce.ca (Pipe FTN/PASSPORT ONLINE) your e-mail there is
darrell@newforce.ca, as well as
ad607@freenet.carleton.ca.(134.117.136.XX). Yes Mister Larose I have
visited your page and found a lot of silly mistakes. Primarly missing
graphic files. Yes I have mailed these messages in there entirety to
support@newforce.ca. I will bet they will be speaking to you about this.

Mister Larose... You accuse me of posting possible offencive/illegal
material?... But sir what you have done is comit real name fraud in a
pitiful attempt to discredit me? Why sir what do hope to gain? A possible
police record because you will be charged after I am finished printing
this rather large data trail you left. I have an appointment with the
RCMP at 09:00 tommorow. When I show the reems of paper I have printed,
they should be visiting you very soon.

You can end this now and publicly admitt that you made these postings.
When you do I will forget this matter. Please sir lets end this childish
battle I have now the proof I need.

My current IP is: 207.176.160.86

My post signature is: Mozilla 2.02E-Kit (win95; U; 16bit)

First off, you clowns really need to learn how to spell without the aid of
hitting F7 and hoping for the best. I haven't followed this thread for long
but find it to be an incredibly boring personal attack, you guys really need
to get a life--try women (I'll describe what they look like if you're not
completely sure), you'll find their company interesting, and if you hit it
off with them they'll allow you to do things that you can't do with your
keyboard (I hope).
GET THE MESSAGE!!! You're wasting my time, as well as that of all the
other viewers of this newsgroup that come here to find something interesting
(by the way, you boys aren't very interesting).
Here's the deal. You both shut down your computers--I know, it'll be
scary, you'll actually have to see the win95 shutdown screen--then arrange
for both of you to meet at the nearest bus stop, (wow, the snow is gone)
then fight to the death by whipping each other with your mouse cords.
    ENOUGH ALREADY!
Please stop boring us, please stop wasting server space, please get a
life.
AND.... please don't even think about flaming me, as I'm not afraid to
leave the house; the smack in the face in DOOM doesn't feel anything like
the real thing.

forged IP NNTP host? (Was: have you....)

Petty bickering snipped.

I have been lurking, trying to follow this thread. But I don't
understand all the technical details.

How secure is DejaNews. Could a net KOOK for example forged
their NNTP header, so DejaNews reports someone elses IP address?

This thread has me wondering, as the various news.admin.net-abuse.
groups seem to be full of munged addresses. Could Deja news be
joed into accepting a bogus IP. I don't want to know how to do it
just if it is possible. Seems like someone could start a BIG online
war doing this.

As someone said early, these posts came from iSTAR, Newforce, Cyberus, FTN
UUNet and NCF. I can't remember if I missed any. I don't know if the person
has accounts on all those ISPs, as I missed some of the thread.

Not at all. They don't archive the Path header, and without that there
is no reliable method of determining the true origin of a post.
