After spending several weeks researching the topic for a client
I have determined that e-commerce is not really offered in Ottawa,
let alone Canada. Only 2 ISP's seem to have any idea, and actually
offer a "turn-key solution" the main factor working against e-comm
is our wonderful, helpfull Canadian Charter Banks. But in a nutshell,
if you want to sell over the Internet, you have to look into hosting
on a USA ISP!

Come on Canada, get with it our you'll lose out

Which two ISP's, and why don't you like their solutions?

TouchNet Canada is based in Ottawa, and provides payment server software
that will work with Canadian banks for credit card processing, among
other things.

http://www.touchnet.ca

Their website sucks, but they have a good product.

There is also a provider in Toronto offering smaller-scale solutions
for people who just want a cheap website with credit-card payment
services. Let me know if you want more info.

Try www.cebra.com or www.merx.ca - I think those should help you out.
You'll find it ironic, though, who provides the service....

IGS is implementing the touchnet solution. We expect to have a fully
CANADIAN package in the next 2 weeks, shopping cart, credit card etc. At a
resonable price.
