	Greetings,

Russel McOrmond, the sysop of a local BBS, complained about the
introduction of this ott.vietnamese newsgroup into the ott. hierarchy.
See the included message below.

	Any comments, folks ?

Me ? I am usually paid to provide an opinion :-)))

	Regards,
	H.H. Nguyen

People who are already involved in telecomunications to the capacity that
they already call local public access Usenet sites or other BBS's or
run a Usenet site at home. One of the limitations of Freenet is
initially going to be the lack of phone lines, and being able to have
general discussions with people that are calling the Freenet with people
that are calling other Ottawa networked sites would be very interesting.

  Ok, lets discuss ott.vietnamese then. Let's discuss ott.freenet. Let's
decide on ott.for-sale, ott.forsale, ott.sale, etc.

As you can probably tell, I am very much in favour of an 'ott.freenet' area
to be added where freenet general discussions can be carried out.
Sort of an extension of the 'ott.general' but for things that may relate
specifically to Freenet.

>Pardon my ignorance, but what is NCF? What exactly do you want to

NCF is the shortform for 'National Capital Freenet'. There is currently
a 'Fidonet' conference called NCF that has discussions relating to Freenet
in it. There are a number of sites that are capable of gateing that
from Fidonet into an 'ott' group. The suggestion is that such a group
would be formed for that purpose so that those interested could read it
easier, and those not interested could skip the whole thing easier. It
would also be nicer to have some of the peole organizing Freenet be able
to talk to the 'BBS types' that might be reading this NCF general
information area.

There has been a lot of mis-information about the Freenet and the best way
to get rid of this problem is to get information out to people.

This is what I was suggesting - Use the existing connections rather than
worrying about adding more connections.
