The incident occurred on Sunday night. Please find below the news from The Ottawa Sun of Monday Jan 4, 93. RESTAURANT FIGHT LEADS TO KNIFINGS, SHOOTINGS Shots were fired and three people were knifed during a fight a Vietnamese restaurant early yesterday morning, Ottawa police said. The brawl broke out at about 1:25 a.m. at the Saigon Capital Restaurant at 765 Somerset St. W., said Staff Sgt. Bill Cathcart. Two of the three stabbing victims were in Ottawa Civic Hospital last night, but Cathcart said none of the injuries was life- threatening. He would not give the names of the victims. No one was injured by the several rounds that were fired from a handgun, said Cathcart. He described the restaurant as a mess when police got there. "Tables were upset, there was blood on the floor and shots in the door," Cathcart said. He could not say how the fight started or who was involved, except that "it was a dispute between two factions. "We are not saying it was gang related." Several people were being questioned by police about the incident last night, he said. As of press time, no charges had been laid. ------------------------------------------------ ..Tu'
