Josh,
Just happened to read your email by chance. Your problem is
that the network is conflicting with whichever port you are connecting
your scanner to.
Windows stored device parameters in MY COMPUTER, CONTROL PANEL, DEVICE
MANAGER. Here you can click on the individual devices to examine or change
device parameters. BE CAREFUL. Whenever you click OK, changes within the
operating system tahe effect. i.e. Be very deliberate about the changes
that you make, and as a rule choose CANCEL unless you are making a
deliberate change.
Most devices listed in the device manager will have details about the buss
address and IRQ parameters that device is currently using and whether or
not the device is conflicting with another. Usually problems such as yours
are caused by conflicts between devices. You change change the buss
address and IRQ (interrupt request) parameters to resolve this conflict.
To do this first inspect all the devices listed by the device manager
making notes about the parameter currently in use. Next determine if there
are any buss address and/or IRQ numbers that can be used to resolve the
conflict. Check also if there are any jumper settings on the network card
associated with the buss addressing or IRQ settings and change them to
software configured settings or select settings that you have determined
will resolve the conflict, which ever is applicable. When inspecting the
card for jumper settings, keep in mind that information on the card is
very literal, If you think thats what it means usually, it does.
Good Luck
