Can you give me an example of most popular brands being manufactured in
Australia? (which could justify higher labor cost)
My new Nike are made in Indonesia, kids stuff also comes  from Asian countries,
where labor is bugger nothing! Freight is very low, add 100% taxes, and still a
lot to explain. INHO the difference is caused by a market size and competition.
The selling price has nothing to do with a real  value. You pay heaps for the
newest model, or you can buy them -40-50% when the model "expires". The only
beneficiary is Adidas, Nike, Puma etc. The companies rip us off like a hell.
What is the cost of a material? You pay for brand, for fashion, you pay for all
bloody commercials, you pay for "sponsorship" .
