Does anyone have any information regarding COMMON LAW in Pennsylvania? If a child is involved and the couple never had the intention of getting married, what are the rights of the father? Actually, the situation that I am referring to, the couple never planned marriage or considered common law, but had a child. And the father never wanted the child in the first place, but rather strongly indicated that the female get an abortion, which obviously she did not. He made life rather complicated during her pregnancy and at one point she moved out, but returned for the birth of a daughter. Now he is fighting for custody. The story gets complicated in the fact that there are a number of reasons why the mother does not want the child to be seen by the father: verbal attack on the mother and her family and drugs in the environment. Does anyone have any advise on this subject? What ARE the father's rights? Thanks, GRACE ------ grace@cellar.org (Grace Kirkwood) The Cellar BBS - (215) 539-3043
