I attended John Marshall High in Portland, Oregon. The boy teams were
called the Minutemen and the girl tams were called the Minute Maids.

The high school was named after US Chief Justice John Marshall. As a
history buff, I know Justice Marshall never had anything to do with
the minutemen of American Revolution fame. And, before anyone asks, I
have no idea on how the name became attached to the school's teams.
