Do artist/group names like Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Steve Roach, Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, Larry Fast of Synergy, Neuronium, etc. etc. etc. mean anything to you? Are you one of those rare folks who appreciate this style of futuristic instrumental electronic music as being it's OWN music, and having nothing to do with New Age? How would you like to be in a roomful of people who actually know what you are talking about (!) when you share your appreciation of this music, and who are as enthusiastic about it as you are??? How about being able to get an inside line on E-music happenings all over the planet - from a source right here in Portland??? It's here! It's happening! We are Electronic Dreams, an organization of listeners, collectors, musicians, and interested people united in support of E-music. We publish a quarterly international newsletter called DREAMS WORD which is available for free in some local record stores. Our membership list includes people from many countries and accross the United States. Many of our favorite E-music artists such as Christoph Franke and Steve Roach are active members as well, so we can usually get the latest news direct from the source. On Sunday, November 7, at 3pm, Electronic Dreams is holding a public presentation entitled "A Celebration of E-music and Dreams". We will feature great music from many great artists, both known and unknown. There will be discussions of the history and purpose of E. Dreams, as well as how the local meetings work, etc. etc. etc. We will present great inside stories, such as "Whatever happened to Larry Fast?" as well as the latest news from many artists. Best of all, we shall feature a gift from Chris Franke... a SOUNDBOARD RECORDING of his live concert in London last year! This concert will be released as an album in January of '93, but will make it's Portland debut at our celebration. The music is in the classic heavy sequencer style that we all love. And you can hear it here first! Admission is free. Be there at the Northwest Service Center, Sunday the 7th at 3 pm. Seeya there! Elana Mell Beach Coordinator Electronic Dreams
