I met my boyfriend through the Willamette Week a year and a half ago. He placed the ad and in my braver moments I answered several ads. I liked him the best and 18 months later, we're still dating. Have any of you tried using the Willy Week? I would be curios to learn how many sucess stories are out there. Of course, there's a lot of bad stories- where the person was out of the question- but sometimes it's nice to hear the fairy tales of where it does work out. -- cathy@techbook.COM Public Access User --- Not affiliated with TECHbooks Public Access UNIX and Internet at (503) 220-0636 (1200/2400, N81)

I haven't but a friend of mine did and met his (now) wife. He also met a
loser before her, so .. you do still need to be patient :)

I read WW a lot, and about half the times I go through the ads. I have not found one to reply to yet, but that's what I get for not being a sWm. My best friend and next door neighbor met her mate through WW about
3 months ago. They've already got a wonderful relationship, and it
wouldn't surprise me if there are wedding bells in the near future.
They're both over 40. I figure they're old enough to know what they
want! &:)
Their success story (she answered his ad, by the way) prompted me to
try it a couple times. I've met a couple nice guys, a couple I wouldn't
want to see again, but that's the way it works. Problem is most guys
that place those ads are looking for the Barbie doll with no brain.
I'm not trying to insult anyone nor stimulate a big debate, here, but
if you read those ads you'll see what I mean. Men (and women) set their
expectations so high that it takes a lot of nerve to answer an ad and
subject yourself to the scrutiny of a stranger.
However, there are indeed many happy endings out there.
