cultural heritage of our City has been further enriched by the
emergence of the gay/lesbian/bisexual community which has become more
visible and active in creating and promoting rights and opportunities
for sexual minorities as evidenced by the wide array of offerings in
the areas of art, health care, law, the media, as well as
professional, religious and social organizations listed in the 1992
Pittsburgh Pride Guide; and
WHEREAS, "Pride = Power" has been chosen as the theme for the lesbian,
gay and bisexual pride celebrations that will take place throughout
the country and in Pittsburgh from June 18-27, 1992; and

and resources to fight back against discrimination and victimization
