I had a very similiar thing happen to me the past couple of months.
The Post Gazette called once day and I very politely said no thank you.
I was polite because I have done telemarketing before and it is not an
easy job. The next day I got called again, this time I explained that I
did not like the very conservative slant of the paper nor did I want my
money indirectly going to one of the wealthiest Republicans in the
country. The person said thank you and waited for me to hang up. Two
days later I received another call, at 8:30 in the morning, I was angry
and asked to speak to their supervisor, they hung up. The next day my
roomate received a phone call again, she said no and hung up. That was
about two months ago. Two weeks ago I received another call, I told the
person I had been called too many times, I was so annoyed that I was now
going to order the New York times because the Post Gazette was too
conservative, and they had made me very angry. Well the telemarketer
proceeded to inform me that the New York Times was a socialist run
newspaper, and ever since the 1970's they had been printing lies about
Republicans. Then he began to tell me about a great book on JFK. I
laughed at him and told him to give up. Well two days ago I got a call
form the New York Times. I just laughed and laughed. I have been
cursed by the newspaper telemarketing community.
