In today's world, women have many roles and can become overwhelmed with the daily demands upon their time, energy and emotions. Everyone feels blue now and then, but if these feelings persist, you may be suffering from clinical depression, a real and treatable illness. Symptoms of depression include: *irritability *feelings of guilt *changes in apetite and sleep *inability to concentrate *loss of energy *loss of interest and pleasure *thoughts of death or suicide The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is offering a research treatment program to address the special problems and needs of women with depression. The treatment is free to women who qualify regardless of your insurance. You must be a woman age 20 to 60 and be experiencing a current episode of depresison, with at least one previous episode of depression within the past three years. If you do not qualify for our program, we will help you find other sources of treatment. For more information or to schedule an appointment call Sandra O'Donnell, RN, Senior Research Program Coordinator at 624-2211. All information is kept confidential.
