Personal appeal from Cindy Moy

Hello, my name is Cindy Moy. Last week, I was informed by my doctors at
the memorial sloan Kettering Cancer center in New York that I would need a
bone marrow transplant. In august 1997, I was stricken with a fatal blood
cancer known as leukemia. As a result of the cancer, I have lost part
of my vision.

After months of extensive chemotherapy, my cancer has progressed to the
point where my hope of survival is a bone marrow transplantation.
Without it, I will die!! Only someone like you can save my life!!

My parents are immigrants from China and I love them and my sisters,
Melissa and Linda very much. I am 27 years old and my parents have
pushed me to study very hard at New York University and Benjamin Cardozo
School of Law where I graduated with honors and received scholarships at
both schools. I have been practicing law for two years and am sadden
that random disease my prematurely terminate my promising career. I am
most sadden by the possibility of being separated forever, in a short
time, from my family and friends.

To receive a transplant, I must find a tissue matched donor. Because
tissue type varies by ethnicity, my matching donor will most likely be
found among people like myself, people of Asian descent--like you. So
far, I have not found a matching donor. This is why I am appealing to
you, a fellow Asian.

You and your friend can make the difference between life and death for
me, as well as for other present and future who suffer from this cancer.
It takes just 10 minutes of your time to give a small blood sample
(approximately two tablespoons). This sample blood test will determine
if you are my match. The results of the blood test will take three
weeks, so please participate as soon as possible.

I know that these are only words you are hearing, but please remember
that I am a real person, just like you. Thank you for reading this...

Sincerely,
Cindy (http://members,aol.com/cindymoy)
