                        Tzu Chi Bone Marrow Donor Drive
               March 15 Sunday
    Mellon Institute Social Room (Bellefield Ave. Oakland)
                        10am to 3:30pm

    HI... 

    Please allow me to explain what this event is about:)

On the day of the Donor Drive, the 15 cc (less than two teaspoon) of
your blood we ask you to give is for testing of your HLA (human
leukocyte antigen) Type.

After testing, your data will be entered into Tzu Chi's database, which
owns the world's biggest Asian Bone Marrow Doner databank.  Unless
required by local databanks, Tzu Chi's databank is targeted to serve
without charge to all patients in need, since it's a databank supported
and maintained by compassionate hearted volunteers worldwide.

The chance of matching between you and a patient is very slim (1/50,000
for the same ethnic background).  However, we can NOT GIVE UP hope!  
There are still thousands of men and women, babies and adults still
fighting in pain, waiting for someone with the same HLA type to help
them...  Please give yourself a chance to save a life, you may be the
only one that can save him/her.
