while the air quality was generally much better the last few days, it still hasn't equalled good for a full 24 hours, in months. while many people desire and get good air for themselves and families and know of the good that can happen because of it. For the people here, I urge all staticians to demand to compare everything from sleep medications doled out here to cancer and asthma and health care output and especially lung function , to all residents of this areas for more then 20 years and compare to people in other cities who ate the same things ( if possible) and had clean air,. that would prove the damages that are happening now. Well, why people don't default to suspicion and at least worrying about the overall affects from bad air for so long , beats me? I have a copy of an editorial which talks about birds diminishing in PA and we already should know about bees are dying and this person talks about the hundreds of trees she sees dying across pa.. It ws in last Tues Philadelphia inquirer letter to editor.. In addition.. I think companies advertising here for COPD, for lung centers , for delivery of oxygen and nebulizers and my own experience being here so long gives the best indication of what is happening here . Even if its as bad as three other places, that can be worse then what it was a few years ago. Do you know what fortune five hundred companies know, in order to spend millions for advertising here. I have not been in any city that approaches the number of commercials for illness here and its no accident. When my lungs consrict so often and I started to see other links I knew this was something incredible. When I said of ways to determine how bad this is for people over time or if its a new reaction to more co2 or soot from growing coal production, your families lives lost of health might be at stake. I think the overall effects are bad , very bad and we are not told how bad. If your objective, I would urge you to think the power politicians and energy companies have in shaping your lives and media completely coopted by the highest payoffs. I think there is no one to protect you like maybe in the past. I think if studies were done, verified by many researchers by going into hosptial records, by looking at new stats and compare two different populations rate of illness and health. it would prove what I would be saying. The longer you live here the greater chance of lost health compared to most areas with cleaner air ( and those people ate the same things). To me the damage is incredible how often my lungs contstict and have to listen to commercial after commercial for health care. I think if people got together to at least determine damage, you or I wouldn't have to guess . Of course to me its not guessing. I am guaranteeing you now, if the last few months are any indication, the longer people stay in air that is not good, the much more chance, your giving family lost health forever in PHIladelphia. I believe that with everything I have . Now people are talking about better cities.. surprise. there are lots of better cities, don't wait till the damage is done, like me. Get a clue.. You might know people living longer, even still walking past 60 but in other cities so much better things are happening. Our politicians don't care.. I tried to get some people to write to neighbors, no one responded. Your going to be left with huge immigrant population who don't know about pollution and probably more people unable to pay their taxes here eventually. More crime and pollution, thats what families have to look forward here too. There are good things but the bad things can kill you too often here.the difference, Iasked MR Sperlings about data for asthma.. No replies so until then I trust my chart and instincts and the drug companies ability to rational demand for Spirvia and nebulizers and Lung centers and my inability and difficulty breathing and F rated air and incidentally. I don't think you mentioned the coal dust called soot which recently we were described as getting in seperate category. as for the epa...I would trust them with one thing, giving air rating numbers. They have proved time and again to not protect americans and our conservative Surpreme Court has said so!!. Moderate pollution has been shown time and again to produce illness, so why do they call it mild I trust this recent chart much more.>>>>>>>> Other things to worry about and make me to believe my instincts, Pa number 2 in asthma, Pa. number 3 in co2, Even without these linksI was telling people years ago about what I was seeing. I was in Dr. Office and people were lined up asking for just asthma meds. please just get the marketing from drug companies in major stations in major cities. I would be astounded to see Philly less then the city with most advertisements for breathing problems and I think here again it might be conjecture if you don't get that data,. but all these things show much cause of concern. I assure you drug companies ability to advertise so much before any news person talks about why shows much concern also. http://www.asthmacapital.com/asthma_capitals2006.pdf >>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> 2007 >>>>>>>> http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=79126 I think the people who made the study were incredibly enough from this region . Temple? Again till you get compartive studies for hard to get data. its all a matter of demographics or which study you want to believe. Show me which city gets more days of air that don't reach good ( for 24 hours) then other cities.. I have compared, although not marked it down.. Philly has to be on the list of top three. with out most days of good air. ... Until you can quanatatively compare the health of two different people from two different regions of air quality, who ate the same things, its all going to be somewhat the difference between bad and worse and some conjecture. I call it the largest conspiracy to hide things that cause illness in the US today. I grew up and I saw a few commercials for excedrin. Now its almost unbelievable all the commercials for health care , hosptials, copd, asthm , nebulizers, power chairs, health plans. and diabetes drugs. If this doesn't give good cause for objective people to worry nothing does. ( yeah I spelled a few words wrong here got to go). We are getting poisoned here.06-29-2007 10:54 AMddelorenzoQuote:
