A better question is where are the environmental extremists who are
standing in the way of new nuclear power plants and causing the north
east to become more dependent on the coal burning plants that are
responsible for the problem?

Another good question might be, suffocate on the soot or figure out
who's really to blame, which will happen to you first?

Your postings remind me of all those dope in Squirrel Hill and Shadyside
I used to see with bumper stickers crying about job loses plastered on
their Volvos and Volkswagons.

there is much more to be done then blaming anti nuc activists from the past
. We have in effect anti pollution devices for busses that will save
countless lives. We have emission controls, electric cars , and even anti
coal pollution devices but until recently people didnt care so they were not
utilized, the same voters voted in the same people who didn't care who got
poisoned and make no mistake many people lost their lives and health and got
asthma not from some mystery but from exact causes many still don't up to...
. For many months people said pollution and its affects were not the
problem.

It really has nothing to do with the past, it's all present day politics
at play. If the log jam of red tape were broken today it would be
another ten years before plants that could replace coal burning
facilities would come on line. But don't count on that because the log
jam isn't going to be broken anytime soon and never will be as long as
certain political interests are purposely trying to drive the cost of
energy higher.

It's funny don't you think that this time last summer Democrats running
for Congress were blaming the Bush administration and big oil for high
gasoline prices and promising action if elected are suddenly silent as
the price return to the same high levels this summer? The same
Democrats many of which were advocating $5 gas via taxes just a few
years ago.

All of this, high energy prices, more pollution, more electricity being
generated with most polluting methods even locally where an offer to to
build a local sports venue with private money is rejected in favor of
using public money... it makes a lot more sense when you give up the
childish illusion that the political left gives a hoot about you.

Damaging the economy with high energy costs, driving up health care
costs and more soot are much more useful to some than clean air for you
to breath my friend.

Just think it about it for a moment; if the US had followed the French
model and built nuke plants 15 years ago and were producing 78% of our
electricity that way, if the air in the cities were cleaner, energy were
cheaper and not such a drag on economic activity ... what would be your
motivation to give up your property rights and freedoms to the loony
left and let them regulate every aspect of your life?

There would be none, of course.

Now stop whining, breath the soot in deep and take one for team already
because there's a bigger thing at stake here than you.
