The air tonight was unbelievably bad

I went out for a ride cause I was bored, and I didn't see too many old
people and I can understnad why. The only people out were young people
looking like many immigrants too new or young to know what poison air does
to you yet........ Tell other to promote change. On airnow website the
numbers are bad but the associations and consequences are worse. Find a
lawyer, move, give your family a fighting chance for better life. Tell your
politician, this don't have to happen. Cancer commericals and commercials
for heart institutes don't have to be the only thing you or your parents
look forward to but with air like this sickness is the only option. I can't
believe things get done to the extent it is. I can't believe people care
about trimming their grass, building the nices fences and maintaning the
streets but the quality of air that is warning level don't bother them? What
is the power of the press and tv news? from these threads you know what it
is... huge.... they decide the issues.
We are living in a holocaust just slower. This is what yur paying high taxes
and huge price for energy for, so they can poison you too. Is this a blast?

And thank goodness for them!

Steve, any careful reading of history will show you that during
any kind of crisis, real or perceived, human creativity will go on.

Creativity went on while Nazis choralled Jews in dispicable
ghettos 60+ years ago. It even went on in Auschwitz-Birkenau while countless
people were being gassed, worked and starved to death.

It went on centuries ago in France when people died of famine
in the French countryside while Moliere and his troupe performed
before Louis XIV.

My point is even when there's disaster there will be people who
contain gifts and enough optimism to live who will try
to maintain a sense of normalcy or will even go beyond simple
things like mowing grass toward greatness.

Yep for all the hospitals and drs that will make out at their lost health
expense, not to mention the cost of high violence which took count 3 lives,
more lives then some Americans who are in a war, says allot about this great
city? five others in hospital, one other woman found behind school. Just a
great city..lol

For this much is a given as long as there is no nuclear war or devastating
disease, but keep ignoring the digression, your missing out . I say you
Karen cause your smart enough, to know the diffeences.and probably have the
bucks to move to another area.

In case anyone thinking of coming to Philly there are or were great things
here, unfortunately our politicians just watch everything deteroriate. other
cities talk about pollution control , getting buses that run on alternative
energy, cameras for crime, , etc, Philly and Pa are not doing much so it
seems. Polluted air and rising gun violence, makes this a hell hole.

While you see the world as glass half-empty, there are equal numbers
of people who see the world as an opportunity and a glass half-full
no matter what horrors are going on concurrently.

. Just use me as an example , my body shuts down at moderate level , let
alone warning levels. I am suggesting that the way the body responds to such
dosing has been shown to cause disease not whats been done about it to stop
it/ Virtually nothing, Some companies don't want to be left behind and claim
they are making changes but its not enough and it may be too late for some
people who will never regain the level of health others have simply because
where they live and the gov was not able or didn't want to protect them
equally. Or politicians didn't want to go after the polluters. I think if
given the information, even news people and politicians would not want to be
shown they were being poisoned more then average if its true but right now
they would rather get old faster too then side on safety ,, assuming they
read the newsgroups. The most one can hope for from the media is to call all
this global warming and not pollution.

Pollution is a facet a global warming; it's all part of the same
huge problem.

In any case I think you have the genetic mutation that makes coping in the local
air very hard for you. Likewise I, apparently, don't have this marker
so I cope better in the air. Or rather I have other genetic markers
which compensate for whatever it is that you lack.

Since I'm not sick I don't feel the urgency that you do. We all
have priorities. I have other ones that proceed the ones you have,
i.e. air quality.

I am sure there are some differences, one is it employs people, two,
probably the harm is less apparent because the drugs pharmacy give you
has some checks and balances, and some proof of it working. , compared to
illegal drugs. I do think the drugs for anxiety is useless but thats just
me, especially compared to changing lifestyle and habits and understanding
anxiety and acceptance. I will not accept pollution though, helpp~ !

Susan, they have done it but our news media is so much about ignoring
reality, and instead focuses on entertainment and fashion and movie stars
now, the shows about people who are on the edge is very limited to who
killed who on prime time and how.. The people inbetween and most other
important issues are totally ignored. Even real crime gets less time then it
use to , but weather ( lies) traffic, and sports gets way more time. The
hard issues, the people without insurance, the people affected by health
issues and why , the war and its detractors and pros are pretty much
ignored. We have been coopted by big companies. When I see what has gone on
in my city with over 200 murders and pollution that is beyond describable
and very little is said, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE , my dreams about what
constitutes America is and has been shattered. There is some good things
still I appreciate but in the end, people on the edge and with problems have
to find out the hard way how to help themselves in the end. There are two
types of people those that know where and how to attain answers and those
that don't. Its scary to be with those tht don't because of finances because
you are often with people who as GARY says JUST IS and just is are often
people who don't believe what is told like me except they want to kill you
too... anyway thats my rant for today
