The following Japanese courses will be offered this semester from Penn Language
Center:

I. Introduction to Japanese I (Monday & Wednesday/6:30-9:00pm)

Prerequisite: mastery of Japanese orthography (katakana and hiragana)

Textbook: Japanese for Busy People (Kodansha International)

This class is an non-intensive Japanese class, covering a basic
Japanese grammar with an emphasis on conversation. Although it is a
continuation of the same class from the last semester, it is open to
anyone who meets the above prerequisite (or anyone who can catch up
	with it!).

II. Business Japanese I (Tuesday & Thursday/6:30-8:45pm)

Prerequisite: At least 2 years of college-level Japanese or equivalent

Texbook: Nihongo de Business ("Business in Japanese") (Nichibei Kaiwa
		Gakuin)

In this course, we will focus on learning Japanese conversation in
business settings. Aside from typical interactions in office
situations, negotiations, meetings, etc., we will also learn to make
reports and using Japanese wordprocessors. The class will have several
talks by Japanese businessmen about the actual business situations in
the area. Each students are to make two short presentations about some topics
	related to Japanese business.
