Quickie review: An absolutely killer show that was attended by less than
3 dozen people despite the fact that the admission was only 6$ and was at
a club[Pontiac Grille] with a decent stage,P.A. and lights and that the
show was written up in the Phila. Inquirers Weekend section[props to SS].
IMHO, if any "old head" types spent 13-15 $ to see the frigging
Doyle&Jerryfit's instead of enjoying and *supporting* Wayne Kramer, than
u must be goofy.Would any Kramer fans please post or e-mail and let me
know if he draws as poorly in other cities as he does in Phila.? I
realize he is a cult act kinda thing, but I suspect that he must draw at
least enough people so that the club/promoter doesn't lose money. This
was the third show in a row that you could count the exact number of
people in less than a minute, and sad to say,it does not look like he can
even draw enough for club promoters to break even on and I dont see him
coming back to Philly unless he is opening for a larger act. Shame.-Chuck

This has nothing to do with Philly. It is because the 'scene everywhere' is all about generic everything. No matter what genre of music: generic, bland, boring is IN. Anything that is not bland will be poorly attended. Anything that is unusual will be unpopular. Case in point: Electroinca, the next big thing. Love, Elizabeth Fiend unpopular & loving it kickstart@thegryphon.com wrote: : Quickie review: An absolutely killer show that was attended by less than : 3 dozen people despite the fact that the admission was only 6$ and was at : a club[Pontiac Grille] with a decent stage,P.A. and lights and that the : show was written up in the Phila.
