Is there an API for accessing pdb files from a desktop application?

I'd like to be able to access my palm data base files from a desktop app
written in either C++ or Java. I've been through a lot of the manuals but
don't seem to find any reference to an API for this. Am I missing something
or or am I just going to have to work this out manually using the PDB File
Formats manual?

Advice? Sympathy? Disdain?

Jerry
