IOMEGA ditto dash 3200 backup software

Hello,

I recently bought a IOMEGA ditto dash 3200 tape drive (TRAVAN). This
tape streamer works with QIC 3020 tapes, like the one from 3M. When I
tried to format one of the tapes with the IOMEGA software (Ditto tools
v 5.0, original from ARCADE), the tape became unusable. I can't read
from or write to the tape, I even can't perform a format. Other users
told me it was a software problem, so I would like to know if someone
out there has any suggestions for a (non)-commercial backup program
for Windows '95 that will work with the ditto dash accelerator and can
perform a reliable format.

The only thing I can suggest is that you can try the Colorado Backup for
Windows95 that HP/Colorado have released to the public. It's available on the
HP/Colorado FTP site at
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/information_storage/hp-colorado/win95.
Otherwise, you'll have to purchase Arcada Backup for Windows95.

I have similar problems with a ditto 420 and 2120XL tapes.

Iomega has indicated (via their AOL message board) that a fixed version
should be out very soon. Can get it via ftp or spend money for shipping.

Arcaada backup is a total disaster - ditto is better (both written by
arcada). Right now I format my tapes with older SW.

I have had a similar problem with an Iomega 250 running with ditto
tools. The only way I can format and make reliable backups is by using
256 screen colours.... 16 millon colours causes a DMA conflict.

So far I've seen several Colorado backup programs for Win95, but I've had to
stick to the 16-bit version. Why? Simple -- so far none of the 32-bit programs
have a library, and I have no other way of cataloging the files in my tapes
unless I use the 16-bit version.

By any chance in the world does anyone know of a tape cataloging program that
can work under Win95?
