It's now official.
The economic recession officially ended....
MARCH 1991!!!
The Center for Business Cycle (?), the official arbiter of economic
trends, has declared that the latest US recession ended in March 1991,
and we have been in a recovery ever since.
That recession turned out to be one of the shortest and shallowest
recession on record. No one (until now) knew that it had ended because
the recovery was less robust [sic] than previous recoveries.
GO FIGURE ;^)

For their next trick, they will show how people can be resurrected from the dead
by defining life in just the right way. Sort of like defining employment in
terms of reduced claims for unemployment benefits. Statistics can be a wonderful
comfort in times of trouble. ;-)
