Both the ASUS SC200 and NCR 53c810 cards use the same chip, the 53c810. They
both require a SCSI BIOS (NCR SDMS -read SCSI Disk Management System BIOS to
be "embedded" within your system BIOS, as the 53c810 does not have its own
BIOS onboard. Symbios Logic (who bought out NCR when they folded a while
back), is responsible for upgrades to SDMS BIOS as well as the various drivers
for the 53c810 chip, such as doscam, aspicam, etc., and they release periodic
upgrades of their drivers. They have a presence on WWW at
http//:www.symbios.com, which has links to their update files for drivers.
The BIOS that comes with ASUS boards that are capable of utilizing the NCR
BIOS already have the SCSI BIOS "embedded" in the system BIOS; as updates of
the SCSI BIOS are released, it is a matter of determining the offset for the
SCSI BIOS within your system BIOS, and using the DEBUG routine in DOS to
overwrite the existing SCSI BIOS with the updated SCSI BIOS. Also, ASUS, as
well as other ASUS owners, have made available updated system BIOS images with
the latest and greatest SCSI BIOS embedded, which you can download and then
flash your system BIOS to upgrade. Hope this helps. ASUS presence on WWW is
