 I have seen you repeat this canard over and over again, and I can't let 
it stand.  Telemarketing (which is not even what Primenet did here--they  
hired a firm to call a customer to find out if he was happy with his 
service, for Pete's sake. It was not a cold call.) is NOT spamming.  A 
telemarketer may be annoying and intrusive, but he/she also pays for 
the call. It doesn't cost me anything but my time. E-mail and usenet 
spammers don't pay their own way; they expect to advertise their product 
at *my* expense, and that's why I hate it.
 
 And don't tell me about how valuable your time is--if you were truly 
short of time, you'd have dropped this stupid, paranoid issue some time 
ago. 
 
 Now let Jim get back to killing *real* spammers.
