The reason they were allowed was because they were equal citizens within 
the Canadian family- that's why.  Furthermore, Elijah Harper had very valid 
reservations concerning Meech- namely the fact that it treated the 
Aboriginal peoples of this country as if they didn't belong.  I find it 
very odd indeed that Michel Catudal, who claims that he does have 
Aboriginal bloodlines, decides to ignore this very valid objection to Meech 
when he rants and raves about how unfair everything has always been.

A final resolution would be good....but not one that would base the concept 
of equality on the province within which an individual lives.  What we're 
talking about here is not the Canada that Quebec can live with....but 
rather the Canada that we all can live with- that's the bottom line.  And 
it's a mistake for you to assume that smaller, have not provinces should 
not have imput or a final say in the future of their country precisely 
because it is their country too....not just yours.
