On this one you're full of shit. The south didn't want >to be dominated by the North and after they lost the war they got crushed by >the north. The federalists are advocating similar actions toward Quebec as the >north US had against the south. > You are a) wrong, and b) obviously being manipulated by your own media sources. After all, talking about crushing the OUI side in a referendum is a bit different than burning cities, taking over homes, etc.... I do know American history Michel...and I did know about the civil war. Oh yes...does it surprise you that we learn about American history up here? However this is besides the point. The issue here is elitism....and what right you have to challenge another's intelligence based on whether or not they have mastered American history. As for your belief that the south didn't deserve what they got- well, it seems to me that you're applying a bit of a double standard. You called the loyalists all sorts of names (including traitors) because they didn't wish to be a part of the US....and now you are saying that the South didn't deserve to be treated as traitors. Well I will not beat around the bush on this one....I find it apalling that you can remark about how badly the south was treated after the war....especially given the fact that they were such strong proponents of slavery. Why don't you ask yourself how "civilized" slavery was before you lecture anyone on what is and is not just! ****************************************************************************** Robert Kish "The awful truth for the modern day Trent University capitalist is that their system of Peterborough, Ontario economics is condusive not to Canadian Studies/Political Science democracy, but rather, oligarchy!" ******************************************************************************
