Perhaps you should read it again, or perhaps, as seems to have happened before, things have a different translation into English than what has been said in French ? The low broadcast rate for French Canadian TV was the primary reason given by the Allaire commission for it's demand that Quebec have control of broadcasting since the CRTC didn't seem to work in Quebec. > > I presume, in light of this dramatic turn around, that the Quebecois > > will now stop winning about how their culture is being opverwhelmed by > > English Canadian and US culture and will also stop demanding CRTC type > > control of telecommunications and broadcasting in Quebec ?? > > > > ...Ken > > When you say Quebecois, do you include english qubcois, Ken? Isn't Quebecois the proper term for a resident of Quebec ? Or do you prefer Quebecer ? >Or is that your exclusive personal definition for french sovereignists. Certainly not, "some of my best friends" are Quebecois..ah that would be ex-Quebecois, they live elsewhere now, I don't call french sovereignists anything in particular. If you were > qubcois Ken, you would get told by about half of every newsgroup through > wich this is cossposted that you're xenophobic and all the rest for > implying that a qubcois is a french speaker only. The implication is yours. If the Government of Nova Scotia (where I live) were making some demand, I would not be upset if someone said that Nova Scotianers were demanding something. However, I can see your possible confusion, in Nova Scotia the government usually doesn't ignore the wishes of the majority of the voting population in it's demands. > Nonetheless Ken, by saying that qubcois are winning you include that the > whole bunch of them are winners. Is that true? You do seem to keep electing governments which continue to wine about something or other, if it's not the Liberals it's the PQ. But I suppose I should appoligize, it's not really winning is it, you by and large have been fed such a distorted picture of history and an even more distorted view of Canada and the world of today that you probably *do* feel that you have justifible greviences, and do you know what ? YOU DO HAVE JUSTIFIBLE GREVIENCES, but so do many others, we just don't seem to wine bout them quite so much, or perhaps it's just that we can't be heard above the winning of Quebec ! > Man I should just pack my stuff and leave, these people are simply > intolerable don't you think Ken? Nice vintage, good bouquet but doesn't taste quite right... ...Ken
