Hello there again... Still looking for many things...have some room to manuever, of course... Can pay CASH, COD, or cashier's check COD. O.k., what I need is the following: 1. A quality 5 disk changer...good higher-end model, with programmability, preferably DSP functions, and play while exchange functions...the Sony model comes to mind.... 2. A quality Pre-amp unit; good audio functions a must, with video/phono functions not really necessary...something from Carver, like the TC-6, or NAD, or even something from the Sony ES line would be great... 3. A full-fledged A/V receiver system...must have Dolby Pro-Logic, be at least 100 WPC into 2 channels, DSP a plus, with tuner, a/v input, and all that jazz. Preferably, Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon...quality Pioneer and Sony also considered...examples include Denon AVR-2000, Onkyo 717, Sony D1011... 4. SPEAKERS: O.k., this is the most important part of what I'm looking for... a. One 3 piece satelite (with POWERED subwoofer) system. Obviously, must be able to handle at least 60 watts, and preferably can peak up to 100+ WPC. A good combo would be something like a pair of good bookshelf speakers (ie. Wharfdale Diamond V, Boston Acoustics HD-8's, Celestion 7's or 9's, NHT 1.1's, etc.) with a good powered subwoofer...ie. Velodyne F-1012. In general, model's I'd be interested in include JBL, Celestion, Velodyne, Boston Acoustic, Wharfdale, etc. b. One pair of quality floor-standing (or rack mountable) speakers... Preferably an excellent 2 way or good 3 way, with ~ 8" woofer, 1" titanium tweeter type design...most important would be good imaging and voice reproduction...not so concerned with low end (ie. good down to 45 or 50 hZ would be sufficient)...what I had in mind was something along the lines of Celestion 11 or 15's, KEF 103 series, Camber, JBL L series, Mirage etc. Finally, i'd be looking for some interconnects and speaker cable...12 gauge cable of the Radio Shack variety, Monster Cable Interlink 400's, etc. Nothing too fancy there. Again, I'd be willing to pay in cash or money order, and can pick up if you're located anywhere near Boston. Having original packaging and receipts are a big plus, since warranties don't mean a thing w/o the receipt. Anyway, any advice on what I need above, and esp. any offers for those wishing to sell something that fits the above bills, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you for your time and patience. Hope to hear from you soon. -Dave -- This Is Not A Love Song... -PIL I'm here, you're there, but you can reach me: dchou@acs3.bu.edu
