It snowed today here in Denver, and I soon discovered that the snow rendered my brakes virtually useless. Does anyone have any advice on how to remedy this problem? I would appreciate you help. One can send me e-mail at Mark_Hartzell@denver.cba.du.edu Thanks Mark.

Does anyone else have this problem?
I've riden in sleet, snow, and ice storms and have never had my brakes
freese up. It's happened to my rear derailer before. I just keep a spray
bottle of windshield washing fluid handy and spray the water off before
it has a chance to freeze. No, it has never frozen up WHILE I was riding.

Usual things: the rims get covered with melted whatever, which then cools to a layer of ice. No brakes. The other thing is to have the mechanism jam with snow/ice. I've had that happen a few times, but mostly to the rear derailleur, rarely to the brakes. ;-D oN ( Ride ... ice? ) Pardo

Campagnolo and Modolo brake blocks don't mind the rain and snow. Thhey are not very cheap, but they last a long time.
