Rain Questions for Vision-Impaired Folks (like me)

More rain questions for the vision-impaired: How do you folks reduce
fogging/rain accumulation on your glasses? Contact lenses are not an
option for me, and I *must* (can you say blind as a bat?) wear the
glasses. These factors have combined to cause me problems, especially
when riding at night.

How about this then.

I used to do a half hour communte when I lived in Edmonton and I would keep it
up until there was snow. One year it got down to -20 Celcius before it snowed
and I found that my glasses stayed clear until I stopped at an intersection
when the lenses frosted up immediately. I could see nothing through them and
would peer around and under them and look for green and red smudges though the
frost to tell me what the light was doing. I started off completely blind but
the moving air would have the lenses clear before I reached the other side of
the intersection.

It's obviously luck and not brains that has kept me alive.

ther is some spray that you can put on the lenses to prevent them from
fogging up. unfortunatly i forget the name of it but you should be able
to get it at your optician. it comes in a real small aerosol can. as for
keeping rain outta yer eyes, i find a baseball hat pulled down real close
works pretty well.

Well for day time in the rain, find a helment with a brim like the old
Bell Tourist and some fenders. [Unless of course you can find one of
those glasses that comes with the builtin wipers :-)]

As for fogging, use some saliva (always available) and apply
to you glasses (Some commercial concoctions are also available).
Re-apply as required.
