Hi,

I'm trying to replace the steering on Far Cove. Several people (like
here...) have told me to contact Edson directly, but I can't find an
order number (1-800 or otherwise...). I talked to Chimo Marine, who were
listed as the "Authorized Dealer" for Vancouver, but they say they are
wholesale only and will not sell directly to me. They directed me to
Steveston Marine. Steveston Marine directed me to Chimo, and when they
heard Chimo would not sell to me, to "the 1-800 order number" at Edson
Intl.

Does Edson Intl. HAVE a sales number? Do they sell directly?

I know this may be a dumb question, but did you try their web site at
http://www.edsonmarine.com/contactus.html

I found there is a dealer in NANAIMO and VANCOUVER to name a few.

However, I couldn't find any place on the site to place an order directly.

When I was in business for myself, they sent a regional rep. to visit me and
wanted me to be a dealer, with the assurance that Edson wouldn't be selling
directly to anyone in my area.

The Vancouver dealer is Chimo Marine, who were very helpful in picking
the rught parts, but won't sell me anything (wholesale only).

This is the story I got from Chimo. But as I said before, they said to
go to Steveston Marine, and S.M. told me to "buy direct from the
factory"...round and round...

Just for the record...I finally got ahold of these guys, and they said
I should go through Chimo. I explained the problem with them and they
agreed to send me the stuff directly. Now (or at least in 7-10 business
days), I'll be $1200CDN cheaper and have the parts for a new steering
and engine controls for Far Cove. Yay (I think...)
