I have recently bought the above mentioned boat used and the plate
information about max weight load and Hp are complete bleached out by the
Florida sun. I have contacted Aquasport but the boat was produced before
Genmar took over and the records have disappeared for boats manufacture at
the time. If someone can supply me with this info I would be greatful.
Thank you

No, Capt. Bob's right. I've got an '88 Aquasport 22', and there is a plate
up at the helm that does have that information. I'm confused by Genmar not
being able to help, though. I thought they bought Aquasport in 1990 or 1991
at the latest.

The manufacturer may have put some capcity information on a placard in
the boat. However since it's over 20 feet, it would not be a "Coast
Guard" capacity placard. The words "Coast Guard" are not even
supposed to appear on a capacity placard in a 20+ foot boat.

On boats less than 20 feet, the "max HP" on the Coast Guard plate only
applies to boats designed for outboards.
