 Rose trellises, shrubs, "ornamental" iron or wood fencing, etc. would
work.  However, so would a good, stout, locked door.

 If you go in and out often or have rugrats you're still stuck, though.
Of course, you *could* make the children crawl through a 12x12 doggie
door, but then you'd have laundry problems.
