Yep, the subject says it all. I didn't understand Jan Meyer's article/flyer
"Newbie blues" until now, when I am afflicted with such condition.
You're no longer impressed with the thought of dying on THIS jump. The AFF
course feels like it was 10 years ago instead of last year. You're somewhat
waiting for the 100 jump mark (note: some call this stage the 25-100 do-or-die)
but not really excited by 'number of jumps' alone. You want to try RW but
you're not a skygod. Maybe freestyle? Style and accuracy? BASE? Skysurf?
You're relaxed enough to fart on jump run, to fart in freefall. But you're
still too 'young' in skydiving experience to do the 'hot stuff'. You'd like
to learn more, but there's that GAP between one-on-one and 4W. Worse of all,
you don't have a mentor or mentors. No Daddy Warbucks to bankroll your bills.
Bartender, another Sterno, please.

Come to Penisula Skydivers in Westpoint VA, and I'll get you on at lease an eight way with jumpers ranging from 25 to 7000 jumps and the only question they will ask you is, "Do you have enough money to pay for the BEER you will owe?" -- Bert Robbins D-12373

I have two RW courses on line. One is for people who are just out of AFF and one is for the intermediate jumper who wishes to start 4-way RW. Since both are sort of long and I don't want to waste bandwidth I can mail a hard copy if you will E-mail me your address. This may help you with the blues. Being put in an 8-way is no big deal. Last weekend we put a tandem in a 10-way. Does this qualify that person for an SCR? Jim Milstead
