FYI: The 200 way in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina last October was
displayed in a 3/8 page picture in Air & Space Magazine this month.
The caption reads:
Residents of Myrtle Beach, South Caroline, must have
thought that Chicken Little was right when this crowd of
200 broke the old record of a 150-skydiver formation.
Last October six airplanes carried the jumpers to 18,000
feet over the beach town for numerous assaults on the
record. On the 24th jump, they linked up successfuly.
It was neat to see it in A&S.

(great photo caption!) AOPA Pilot (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) also had a pic of the 2x10^2 way. Maybe to warn pilots to check NOTAMS? (see thread on cloud punching!!!) I was at Quincy in '86 (1986!) when they built the 120-way. It was exciting, watching it build, like so many ants (from the ground view) with a mission. I was excited for all those who were on it, but I have to admit that I enjoyed all of the funnels the most! Geeeeeeez, there was some really World Class tracking taking place! Rick J. "Rocket J."
