I'm in the market for a new S-VHS VCR with the Thomson "Commercial
Advance" (CA) feature. My main uses for the equipment will be
time-shifting broadcast and satellite TV programs.

My WWW research indicates that these products have what I want:

  RCA VR730HF
  Hitachi VTDX815A
  JVC HR-S9400U

Can you offer any advice/recommendations/corrections? Also, more
information on CA-- in particular, whether different manufacturers use
different algorithms-- would be appreciated.

TIA,
CKL
