WHAT  IS U-GAIN?
U-Gain is a digital pair gain system ,also known as a DAML (Digital 
Added Main Line) system. It can increase the capacity of existing 
two-wire subscriber lines by eight times
using advanced ISDN technology.
THE BEST CHOICE
U-Gain provides an immediate solution to areas which encounter  a 
shortage of telephone cables or high demand  of telephone subscribers. 
It increases the capacity of  existing telephone copper plants without 
laying new cables. For fast installation  of subscriber loops, U-Gain is 
the best solution.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
The U-Gain system consists of  two primary components: a Central  Office 
Terminal(COT) in the exchange/switching office, and corresponding Remote 
Terminal at the subscribers sites. A COT contains a Power Supply 
Unit(PSU) and up to 15 Line  Units(LU). These plug-in units are housed 
in the COT.
The RT is mounted on the subscriber side and is designed to withstand 
harsh weather conditions. Powered over the subscriber line from the COT 
, the RT can support up to eight POTS channels. Please refer to the 
system architecture illustration for details.
UNIQUE POWER DESIGN
The proprietary design of U-Gain*s power supply unit supplies the most 
stable power source of existing pair gain systems, as well as the lowest 
voltage on the Digital Subscriber Line(DSL).
SIMPLE MAINTENANCE
The modular design of  U-Gain allows it to be repaired with  minimal 
interruptions in service. Testing and alarm functions are distributed 
throughout each LU to supervise the status of each  LU and DSL. Trouble 
shooting of each unit can be promptly and easily done by replacing its 
internal module.
OPEN SYSTEM ALARM ARCHITECTURE
The unique design of U-Gain allows it to be compatible with a wide range 
of alarm monitoring systems . This ability makes U-Gain superior to 
alternative pair gain systems
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
It uses advanced PCM and ADPCM technology to encode the analog signal to 
digital
The transmission method on the DSL uses echo cancellation and line code 
2BIQ in accordance with ANSI T1.601 standard.
