Anyone out there who can give me advice...would be appreciated
I am looking to buy a new computer and I would like to know
what kind to buy. I want a really good one because I know that
these things can become out-dated very quickly.
Where I am looking my choices seem to be between Compaq Presario,
Aspire, NEC and I believe AST???. I can use computers for my
own purposes but other than that I don't know alot about them.
I use the internet daily and will be doing some basic office management
and faxing, personal budget and records etc. Also, I would like to run
a CAD program for kitchen design on it but I don't want to overload
it to where it will become slow.
I saw an NEC with *200 MHZ
*2.0 Gigabytes
*33.6 Fax modem
*16 CD Rom
*32 RAM
*MMX Technology (I think I should get this feature??)
As well as some other numbers which I can't remember. Some of these
numbers might not be 100% accurate but that is how I remember them.
Would this be enough for me or should I get a better one? Is one of
the other kinds a better value for my dollar? I don't want to go way
overboard on the spending (or my wife kills me) but I don't want a
dinosaur. I would not like something that looks 'okay' now but in
6 months it is the equivalent of a what a 'VIC 20' was when the Commodore
64 came out.
Please help me out as I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much,
Mike
