Hi all, Well I'm kinda a newbie at Linux so am not that literate at resolving what I believe to be a serious problem. I have been running Linux 1.3.20 for some time now on my 486/DX2 without a hitch until this ..... While booting up the daemons duribg boot-time, when it gets to loading the nfsd, it spits out the following message: "Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at address c0000000" It then dumps a whole heap of Hex Stack values and stops. I have tried booting off my boot disk but with no success. Is there anyway of recovery before I wipe the slate clean and have to re-install it? (please don't make me do this :( ) Hope someone could help, please e-mail me at luca@yallara.cs.rmit.edu.au thankx, Adrian.

I don't remember this being a option when compiling kernel 1.3.20, although I might be wrong? The only short term solution I have in mind is to boot using a root disk, mount for drive, then remove the nfsd from loding in my rc.init file? This should work right?
