IIRC there were two incidents--easily confused because
both flights originated in the Hawaiian Islands. One was Aloha
Airlines Flight 243, 4/28/88; the other was United Airlines
Flight 811, 2/24/89. In the latter flight a cargo door blew open
causing explosive decompression of the cargo hold, leading to
collapse of the floor of the passenger compartment and thus
ejection of some seats. In the Aloha incident the failure
occurred in the passenger area, and there was no loss of life
among passengers who were in seat belts. The flight attendants
were in the aisle; one was blown overboard and the other two
were injured. Pictures of the aircraft at
<http://www.disastercity.com/flt243/> show that no seats were
ejected.
